Arcadia College holds a long history of volunteering in our local area and supporting others in need. Through different outreach programs, students gain an understanding of care and empathy for different groups such as our homeless and elderly communities.

Arcadia College also has a reputation of raising awareness for important organisations and national days of action including ‘R U OK Day’, ‘World Kindness Day’, ‘IDAHOBIT Day’ and the ‘National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence’.

Students come together to learn what these organisations stand for and participate in group activities to promote their message across our school and in our community.

With the support of other local organisations such as RADFLY, OzHarvest, The Gold Coast Titans and the Varsity Lakes Community Centre, students and families are provided with food, clothing, personal resources, alternative learning opportunities, and a continued education.

‘Ohana means Family – Family means no nobody left behind’.

Penthouse Challenge Days

The purpose of the Arcadia College Penthouse Challenge days is to promote Comradery and a sense of Team Work as students compete across classes and year levels in our school.

Students and staff have the opportunity to express their sporting, artistic, cultural, and personal attitudes through a range of fun and competitive activities that can be similar or very different from your regular intra-school events.

There are currently 4 Penthouses or Teams at Arcadia College – Wave, Soul, Q1, and Oracle.

These are named after the 4 prominent buildings in our local area and were designed by a local architect. Penthouse teams compete for two prestigious awards/shields:

  1. The Ohana Award: Best supportive and engaged Penthouse
  2. The Champion Penthouse Award: The team who receives the most points for that event on the day.

Previous Challenge Days have included:

  • Spartan Sports Day
  • Athletics Day
  • Water Battle
  • Amazing Race
  • Lip Synch Battle
  • Winter Sports Day
  • Beach Sports Day
  • Arcadia’s Got Talent

Whole School Awards Day and Year 12 Formal

Like most schools, Arcadia College enjoys celebrating the success of our students. At the end of each year we gather the entire school together to present students with their Completion Certificates and Special Awards including Trophies and Plaques. These awards acknowledge Student Attendance, Student Engagement, Academic Ability, and The Ohana Spirit – The value of Caring for Others.

The 2020 graduates celebrated their achievements at Dreamworld, with both their formal and graduation event taking place in November.
