Ohana Education Limited, trading as Arcadia College, is a Not-For-Profit entity and an Independent Co-Ed Secondary Special Assistance School currently located at Varsity Lakes Qld.

Arcadia College, like all Independent Schools, it is funded mainly with Federal Government funds topped up with State Government monies. We do not charge Tuition fees but charge $1000.00 per year levy to cover resources and food.

Arcadia College is a school for high school students who have disengaged from main stream schooling. Our Queensland registered teachers deliver the Australian Curriculum in a different way, the Arcadia way. The school is focused on academic outcomes set in a welfare- based environment. Besides our amazing teachers, we employ teacher aides and extensive mental health support through our team of wellbeing staff, youth workers, psychologists and nurses. Our students are provided with three healthy meals per day. There’s no school uniform, no school bells, no moving classes and heaps of mutual respect between students and our staff.

In 2016 Arcadia College purchased a 2500 sq. m block of land on Centerline Place, Robina for $3.025 Million. In 2018 approval was given by The Gold City Council for the plans developed by Gold Coast Architects Burling Brown. Alder Constructions were appointed builders of the $13.5 million three level 3000 sg m building with construction starting in late 2019. The school is on track to be completed in late 2020. The Commonwealth Government has provided $4.225 million in funding and the Qld State Government $1.365 million towards our new building.

In 2021 this site will become home to Arcadia College’s new school. Our exceptionally lucky students and staff will walk into their new school in January 2021.

Our new school will include classrooms for Grade 7-12 students, a student wellbeing- centre, IT hub, a rock-climbing wall, basketball court and playgrounds. The futuristic learning environment will promote creativity while fostering inclusion and wellbeing.

Supporting our students with quality meals has been a key consideration. The commercial kitchen will provide high quality, healthy meals for both students and staff and students will have access for hospitality studies.

Exercise is critical and the rock-climbing wall and recreation center, combined with our extensive HPE curriculum and Outdoor Ed programme, will be key in supporting our students’ physical and mental health.

We’re so very excited about our new school and the amazing opportunities it will provide to students who might otherwise have called time on school!
